Wilton Road diversion

21 April 2011

From 3 May 2011, Wilton Road north of Neathouse Place will be closed to all general traffic except buses, licensed taxis and bicycles.

General traffic will be diverted along Bridge Place, Eccleston Bridge and Buckingham Palace Road. This route avoids the Congestion Charging zone.

Larger vehicles

  • Vehicles that are more than 18 tonnes in weight will need to use alternative routes due to the weight restriction on Eccleston Bridge
  • Vehicles that are more than 18 tonnes, and under 4.4m in height, are advised to use Grosvenor Road

Penalty charges

There are road signs on the approach to, and at, the Wilton Road junction that alert you to the diversion and that access to Wilton Road is restricted to buses and licensed taxis.

If you ignore the signs and drive along Wilton Road, you may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice of £130 (reduced to £65 if paid within 14 days).
