Green Park

Green Park station We're making improvements to Green Park station and the surrounding area in time for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Several improvements are already in place, including:

Over the coming months we are installing platform humps to provide level access on the Jubilee and Piccadilly lines similar to those already installed on the Victoria line platforms.

We are currently undertaking work in the park and the station to help regulate the temperature on the Piccadilly and Victoria line platforms. The system uses borehole water technology for cooling and is designed to use less energy than conventional cooling systems.

Street-level improvements

We are also working with Westminster City and The Royal Parks to improve areas at street level. This includes access to the station and Green Park by creating a new sheltered area running along Piccadilly, and a new entrance to the Tube station direct from the park.

The station exit which allows access to the City of Westminster public toilets has been improved. And at street level a new area has been created for the Barclays Cycle Hire scheme, though this has been temporarily hoarded off to facilitate the cooling the tube works.
