Equality and inclusion
We are committed to improving transport in London by making it more accessible, safer, reliable and affordable.
As a service provider to one of the most diverse cities in the word, we work hard to understand our customers' needs and respond to them through work such as the Mayor's Transport Strategy and equality schemes.
Our equality focus continues to:
- Remove barriers to accessing our transport services
- Make sure we employ a diverse workforce that reflects the population of London at all levels of the organisation
- Check those who provide services on our behalf (contractors and subcontractors) have a similar commitment to equality and inclusion
We've achieved a lot in these areas, but there's still more to do. In early 2012 we will develop a single equality scheme, review our activity to date and, in April 2012, will publish (for consultation) our equality objectives for the next three years.
These objectives will focus on delivering improvements for Londoners and will be developed with input from key stakeholder groups including our Independent Disability Advisory Group.
