Taxi fares consultation
Taxi fares are reviewed on an annual basis and the proposals for 2012 are set out in the Taxi Tariff Consultation 2012 (PDF 230KB).
The closing date for commenting on these proposals was 28 November 2011.
Private hire consultation
We are reviewing some of the policies that govern private hire operators, drivers and vehicles, including:
- Licensing and other requirements for drivers
- Signage and the types of vehicle that can be licensed
- Premises that can be used as operating centres
- Planning permission and other requirements for operators
- Criminal record checks for operator licence applicants

Taxi and PHV age limit exemptions
The Mayor's Air Quality Strategy puts age limits on licensed taxis and private hire vehicles.
The age limits will come into effect in 2012 and a number of exemptions from the age limits have been consulted on.
The closing date for responding to the consultation was 18 July 2011.
